Karley's 7th Birthday Party

Last Friday we rented the beach at Lake Shawnee for Karley's 7th Birthday. It was a private party so all that was there were the people we invited. It was awesome. The kids had a blast and I had no clean up afterward. My cousin, Charley took Sunni's place in the picture taking department and we got some pretty good shots of the kids.(We missed you sunni!!!) The beach had 2 water slides that were the most popular for the kiddos. Here is the birthday girl going down the slide. HOW CUTE! Up next is Miss Macie and Myself. I love the look on Macie's face. The whole way down she kept saying: "this is so fun!!!"
Here is Karley's friend Camryn.

Macie going by herself!
Miss Carlyn Bowman

My cousin, Bobbi, Todd and I were the only adults that got into the water. Here is Bobbi going down the slide. HAHA!

Todd and Blake became buddies and hung out for most of the party.

After the swimming it was time to open presents. Here is Karley and Grandma posing before the cupcakes and presents.

CUPCAKES! We had these made by my neighbor. Like i said, totally stress free party!
Opening presents.

Most of the gang. What a fun day!

Grand Lake 2010

Last week we made the 4 hour journey to Grand Lake in Oklahoma to spend a few days with Todd's family. It was hot but so much fun. Minus the horrible ear infection Karley and I both now have. UGH.
Here is Karley and Grandma Debbie fishing. Karley caught a crap load of fish---she loved it but she wouldn't bait or release her fish by herself. ICK. I can't say i blame her. We took the boat out and did a little tubing. This was a highlight for Kar. She could stay on this for hours. Here she is with Princess Madison and Aunt Marilyn.
After Aunt Marilyn and Princess Madison got tired it was time for daddy to ride with her. He is much more dare devil-ish and karley was laughing her head off. They were hanging off the edge and spraying each other with the water. I thought for sure they would flip but they never did.

Off centered picture but still super cute.

After Todd got tired it was time to brake out the big mable tube and have mommy ride with Kar. My father-in-law was driving and the whole time i swear he was trying to flip us off. Karley was cracking up and I was a nervous wreck. It was fun but exhausting. WHEW!
The second night we had a birthday party for Kar. It was a night full of pizza, ice cream cake and feeding mud pies and mud shakes to the babies. :) Here is Princess Madison, Sydney, Laykin and Karley.

On Tuesday we took a 45 minute boat ride to dripping springs where they have cliffs you can jump off. Karley wanted to do it. I was such a nervous wreck but decided to let her try. She was so brave!!! Todd's cousins, Tammie and Jessie took her to the cliff and helped her jump. VERY BRAVE!
This photo is blurry but if you look at the top you can see her in mid air. SHE DID IT! After, she decided that once was enough. :)

After the jump. We were so proud of her! She is relaxing in the water with daddy watching her cousins jump off the cliff.
Aunt Marilyn and Madison taking a snack break.

Right before we left dripping springs Todd decided that since his daughter jumped he better give it a try. I laugh every time I see this picture. After he said he couldn't believe Karley did that. It was scary!
After we left Dripping Springs we headed to another cove called serenity. They have trampolines and diving boards that you can use while you are filling up with gas. This photo is on the way there and Karley and Princess Madison are feeding each other grapes.

Here is Kar and Todd going off the high dive.

When we got back to the cabins we were greeted by Adam and Wyatt. This is Jill (todd's cousin's husband) and some of you girls from college will know him as Trisha Thompson's little brother. Anyone remember him from Siblings Day???

This was early Wednesday Morning. Karley caught 6 fish this day. IMPRESSIVE, huh?
We had a great week! I will post some pictures of Karley's beach party soon.

Mowing, American girl Camp and the Lake

Last week we mowed and Karley wanted to try it out. I have to admit she did an amazing job (until she got bored) and was very proud of herself. What a big helper! She also had American Girl camp at Topeka Collegiate. What an awesome camp! They had a few spa days (which Karley loves) and had a tea party. On the last day they brought in some helpers who did their hair and their dolls hair. Karley was in heaven!!
She made a new friend.....Which I always love hearing about.

This was her teacher. Karley had her for a year of preschool and loved, loved, loved her. She was so good to Karley and made the camp really fun for the girls.

What a fun week! We have one more camp scheduled with Collegiate that is a dance and cheer camp. It is right before school starts and I think will be a good way to end summer break. She loves all things dance and cheer. Go figure. :)
On Saturday we went out to Perry Lake to hang out with my cousin on his AMAZING boat. I can't remember the last time I had such a relaxing weekend. Here is Bobbi and Karley getting ready to take the boat out.
Chase, Blake and Karley.
Karley and Daddy.
We parked the boat and docked up with 3 other boats for the day. It was peaceful and such a blast. Here is Karley and Chase right before we went swimming.
Captain Charley.

This photo cracks me up! Poor Blake goes and goes and goes and then just passes out.
We took the boat out again on Sunday where we had hit and miss thunderstorms all day. Lucky for us we were docked during the storms and it kept the heat away. We did take the boat out again in the afternoon and did a little swimming and socializing. Right when we pulled the boat back into the slip it started down pouring.......Talk about lucky!! Karley, Chase and I rode on the front of the boat on the way back in so we could dry out.

Here I am with my cousin, Captain Charley. He is usually so stressed out when I see him so it was nice to have a weekend where we were all relaxed and could just hang out.
Chase and Karley. They played so well together this weekend (which was no surprise) but they were so good and that ALWAYS makes life easier when you have good kids with you!
Just having a conversation. So cute!!

Silly Faces!Then just chillin!

After hearing all the giggling coming from the front of the boat Mr. Blake decided he wanted to join in on the fun.

We had such a good time!
This week my mom is taking Kar to Kansas City for a couple of days and I am going to try and get caught up on this mess of a house. We have Miss Mia Osier's camp out birthday party this Friday and then are headed back to the Lake with Bobbi and Charley Saturday so Look for more fun photos to come soon. We are having the best summer and I can't believe in less than a month School will be starting. BOO to that!!!!!!!!!

4th Of July

We had a busy weekend! Thursday was Karley's birthday (see previous blog), Friday was house cleaning day, Saturday the party started. Fireworks, food and friends. Sunday was the 4th and we had our annual block party. Our neighbors spent over $900 on fireworks so it seemed to go ALL NIGHT LONG. Despite the rain, we had a good day. Again, Good food, good friends and good fireworks. Here is Karley getting ready to begin the festivities. Jeremy, Melissa and Keenan.
