KSU and American Girl Grand Opening

This weekend was busy--too busy. That means it went way too fast. We were going to go to the KSU game Saturday but Todd's brother and fam came into town and we decided to take the girls to the American Girl Grand Opening. (yes, crazy...) We sent the boys to the game and jumped in the car to Kansas City. Before we left I took some cute photos of Karley all decked out in her KSU clothes. Cute, cute!

Here is Karley and Princess Madison at the entrance of American Girl. We only waited about 3 hours to get in. (GASP!) They had it set up really smart though---you got a number and could browse the Mall until your number was up. Lucky for me because I got a good chunk of my Christmas shopping done. The time went really fast and before we knew it it was time to go into the store.
For this trip we took Mia. She was the doll with the WORST hair-do. Karley gets a lot of good play time in on her dolls. She washes, brushes and braids their hair. She applies lip gloss to their faces and plays all the time with them. Needless to say, they are well loved.
This AG store is SMALL. Very SMALL. It doesn't have all the cool things that Chicago, Dallas or New York has like the cafe. It does have the hair salon though. CHA-CHING! Karley was very excited to get Mia's hair done. I made sure to pay attention so I could come home and "style" all of her other doll's hair (For free) at home. :)
It was adorable to see Karley just stand there watching. She was SO EXCITED.

Since it was the Grand Opening (and we were crazy enough to go then) they were doing free crafts inside the store. Here she is doing craft #2. Lucky for us we made it out of the store without spending a whole lot of money. It could have been a lot worse. We got some cute clothes and a new hair-do for her doll and we were off. The crowds were crazy and stressful but we had so much fun!
